Oh, craft time... how I miss you
I think it's safe to say my "crafsy time" is going to be put on hold for awhile now that Miles is here. But trust me... he is a fun tradeoff and well worth it. It's fun reviewing my posts on this blog to see all that I have made in the past. Some day...
Mobile for Miles
Long time - no post. Something about packing up a house, moving when 7.5 months pregnant in the Austin heat, unpacking at a new house, and having a baby - has made life a little on the busy side. But SO worth it. I had a hard time finding a mobile I liked for Miles' cowboy themed room... so I made one. It turned out pretty cute, and the first time he looked up at it, he got a big goofy grin on his face, which just melted my heart. I bought the 2 little horses (the black and white one is actually a rattle), felt cowboy hats, and little sheriff badges. I used a wooden purse handle for the hanger, and hemp for the strings (so it would look like barn twine).

Tis the season
Gifts for Kids...
Eric and I have THE cutest, sweetest, and nicest 7 (almost 8!) nieces and nephews. In fact, my cousins' kids in Austin are pretty much our nieces and nephew, too... so that number is really 10 (almost 11). When it comes to gift giving for birthdays and Christmas, it gets a little tough to find things that fit, that they need, and that fit in our price range at times. Because let's be honest... kids really don't need more toys than they already have at home. And I KNOW parents don't appreciate us giving their kids the loud toys that they have to live with for the next 2 years. =) So - I have decided to start giving them more craftsy things. For example... I made (sanded, stained, and painted) Kyler this little treasure box (filled with some of his favorite things... a big bag of licorice, some little farm animal figurines, etc.) But it's something he can use as he grows up. So - kids... watch out at Christmas - Aunt Rarah is digging into her craftsy projects this weekend. xoxo

Little treasure boxes I made for Taylor and Makenzie - and a coat hanger for Kiana.
